Also known as lactic acid ethyl ester, is a monobasic ester formed from Lactic acid & etheanol, commonly used as a solvent hence the name “lactic acid ethyl ester”. This compound is considered biodegradable and can be used as a water-risible degreaser. Ethyl Lactate is a colorless liquid with a mild odor. It is used as a solvent for dyes, lacquers, paints, enamels, nitrocellulose, cellulose ethers, and resins, in the manufacture of safety glass and stencil paper, and as an additive forcosmetics.
